Berry Blast Smoothie Recipe
Prep time: 5 minutes Servings: 2
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries), fresh or frozen
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup baby spinach or kale (optional, for a nutrient boost)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or a dairy-free alternative (like almond or coconut yogurt)
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or any other milk of your choice
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseed meal (optional, for added nutrients and texture)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
- 4-6 ice cubes (if using fresh berries)
Instructions:
-
Rinse the berries under cold water if using fresh ones. If using frozen berries, let them thaw for a few minutes before blending for a smoother texture.
-
In a blender, combine the mixed berries, banana, spinach or kale (if using), yogurt, almond milk, chia seeds or flaxseed meal (if using), honey or maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract (if using). Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
-
If using fresh berries, add the ice cubes and blend again until smooth and chilled.
-
Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or thickness by adding more honey or maple syrup, or additional milk, respectively. Blend again for a few seconds to combine.
-
Pour the smoothie into two glasses and enjoy immediately. Optionally, you can garnish with extra berries, a sprinkle of chia seeds, or a dollop of yogurt.
Enjoy your refreshing and nutrient-packed Berry Blast Smoothie!
